Brain Innovation Days

Early Programme 2026

We are delighted to bring the brain community together once again for the 6th edition of the Brain Innovation Days, a dynamic two-day event designed to inspire collaboration and accelerate innovation across the brain ecosystem. Taking place on 18-19 November 2026, this year’s event will be hosted at Area 42 in Brussels, a remarkable venue that offers the perfect setting to foster creativity, share knowledge, and build meaningful partnerships. Over these two days, attendees will have the unique opportunity to connect with leading experts, researchers, clinicians, and industry pioneers from across Europe and beyond – all under one roof! The programme will feature cutting-edge Brain Talks, panel discussions, an Innovation Hall showcasing ground-breaking projects, our annual Pitch Competition spotlighting emerging brain-related start-ups. What’s more, for the very first time, attendees will be able to take part in interactive sessions designed to spark discussion, encourage collaboration, and make the event experience even more engaging. We can’t wait to see you there, sharing ideas and driving forward the future of brain innovation!

Interactive Sessions - Day 1

Innovation Hall

The Brain Innovation Hall is where innovation comes to life. Explore cutting-edge solutions in brain health and neuroscience, meet the innovators behind them, and engage in conversations that drive collaboration and change. From prototypes to clinical-stage innovations, discover what’s shaping the future of brain health.

Masterclass

Brain Innovation by Design: Neuroscience and the Built Environment

This masterclass explores how the built environment influences brain health, drawing on emerging evidence from neuroarchitecture and neurodesign. Bringing together neuroscience and architecture, the session examines how cities and spaces can be designed to support cognitive function, emotional wellbeing, and mental health. It highlights current research and real-world applications from leading experts in the field.

Brain Innovation Sprint

From Stuck to Scale

Europe produces world-class brain research and clinically validated innovations, yet many never reach the patients who need them. In this interactive sprint, participants will work in multidisciplinary groups on realistic innovation cases inspired by common barriers to adoption, from reimbursement and regulation to clinical integration and trust. Together, they will explore why promising innovations get stuck and develop practical pathways to help them scale across European healthcare systems.

World Café

From Lab to Market

This World Café session brings together researchers, innovators, investors, and ecosystem stakeholders to explore the journey from research idea to real-world impact. Through expert insights and small-group discussions, participants will examine the challenges and opportunities involved in translating brain health innovations, from early development and application to investment, market access, and scale-up.

Interactive Sessions - Day 2

Pitch Competition

The Pitch Competition showcases innovative solutions that are transforming brain health. Selected finalists present their ideas live, competing for both the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize. Participants will discover inspiring innovations addressing neurological and mental health challenges and have the opportunity to vote for their favourite pitch.

Red Team / Blue Team

Brain Data Debate

Should your brain data belong to you — or to all of us? As neurotechnology advances, the data generated by our minds is becoming a contested resource. In this fast-paced debate, participants split into two teams: one arguing brain data is a public good for research and healthcare, the other defending it as personal property tied to autonomy and privacy. Structured rounds, sharp 60-second arguments, and a live before/after vote reveal how, and whether, minds change.

Innovation & Investor Matchmaking

Where Connections Build Opportunities

Looking for your next collaborator, investor, team member, or venture opportunity? Innovation Matchmaking brings together innovators, researchers, investors, students, and ecosystem stakeholders in a fast-paced networking format designed to spark meaningful connections. Through a series of short one-to-one conversations, participants can explore shared interests, exchange ideas, and uncover opportunities for future collaboration.

*Please note that this is a provisional programme which may still be subject to change.
